Hi ! My name is Alicia Moore and I am a DONA trained birth doula. My passion for child birth came in the middle of pushing my first baby out. Literally my legs in the stir ups, gown ripped off, face drenched in sweat, complete with a messing bun I thought “This is amazing!” From there I thought I couldn’t get enough about birth. I watched “The Business of Being Born” and my life changed. I dove into researching births for women and how I could help all women have the best birth experience. Of course my own pregnancy and birth experience wasn’t the best. My husband and I tried for almost a year until finding out we only had a 3% chance of conceiving naturally so of course we went straight to IVF and had our first baby and about 18months later we did IVF again and I am now blessed with two beautiful healthy girls. I hold a special place in my heart for couples who have had fertility issues and knowing how special and anxiety ridden your birth can be. I focus on giving the couples emotional and physical support before, during, and after labor to tackle any misgivings. In effort to building my experience I am volunteering my Doula services to women in need. I have recently been in contact with some women shelters that I am offering my services to. My goal is for women to have the best birth experience possible providing them with not only with emotional and physical support but with knowledge and guidance. I work full time at Culpeper Hospital as a CT and X-ray technologist. I work two 16 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday leaving the rest of the week for babies to be born. If this is something that deters you we can always arrange for a back up doula. Thank you for visiting my page and considering me.
